What's the difference anyway? There is
a large difference and it really can make a
difference! Providers typically
"rent" you space on their servers.
They set limits to the number of email
accounts, disk space, bandwidth and
technologies. Typically you have to
take care of everything yourself and there
may or may not be adequate technical support
that may or may not be free of charge.
This is usually a very cost effective
solution as long as you have some technical
skills.
We are NOT a Provider, but rather
we are a SERVICE. That means we are
here to do all the heavy lifting for you.
We work with you to make sure that email
needs are met, we help you set up the web
space for your site, we will be there to
help you if you need technical or artistic
advice. And we back that up with 15
minutes of free support every single month!
So what do you get:
No set up charges! Just pay
your first month's fee and each month
after that will be automatically charged
your card on file.
Site Statistics- we provide AWStats
as a part of your hosted account.
Unlimited Email Accounts- really how
many can you really use? Don't be
fooled by others who will tell you that
you can have 100 or 1000. Most
sites only need a small handful!
We will help you set them up if you like
as a part of the initial set up or a
part of your monthly support!
Windows based hosting. We are
a windows shop, and do have the
Microsoft FrontPage extensions installed
for your use. Don't get bogged
down in the details of one technology
versus another when what really matters
is how well your site performs and is
reachable! Let us worry about the
technology!
Access or SQL Server Databases.
You can always use Access but for a
truly robust plan, upgrade to one with
SQL Server.
Space. OK, seriously, how much
space do you really need? A
typical website uses very little hard
drive space and if your site should grow
so large that it takes up a tremendous
amount of space- then most likely your
site is so busy that it belongs on a
server of your own! Now that is a
problem that we all wish we had!
Too much business. We do not get
bogged down in the details of just how
much space you are using as long as it
remains appropriate to the server farm.
Bandwidth. Just like space,
most sites do NOT really ever come close
to using gigabytes of bandwidth!
Sites that do are typically extremely
heavy in graphics or are large community
sites. Unless you are planning on
reaching that proportion, you will never
need excessive amounts of bandwidth!
So, you see, as a SERVICE we worry
about all the behind the scenes stuff
that so that you can spend all your time
working on building your business!
